Full job description

Do you love cheese?

Would you like the opportunity to learn more about it?

We're seeking two enthusiastic individuals to learn the art of cheese mongering, based out of the maturing rooms in Dyrham. 100% onsite role, access to own transport essential- no direct public transport links.

(This is a warehouse based role, not a customer facing role).

Duties:

Operations

Oversee the receipt, checking, booking-in and storage of incoming cheese deliveries.
Ensure accurate stock records and undertake regular stock takes.
Be accountable for cheese care, including brushing, turning, cleaning and monitoring product quality.
Pick, cut, wrap and prepare orders accurately and on time for the following parts of the business: Fine Cheese Co. shops, e-commerce, domestic trade customers and export trade customers.
Act periodically as consumer-facing cheesemongers.

Food Safety, Hygiene and Cheese Quality

Maintain the highest standard.
Ensure correct handling of exposed cheese to prevent contamination.
Keep storage, cutting and food preparation areas clean, organised and audit ready.
Ensure Company Health & Safety policies and all food safety procedures are followed.
Work closely with the Cheese Specialist and Technical teams to resolve product quality and safety issues.

Previous work in a food environment is desirable, but an interest in cheese and a willingness to work hard is essential.
