Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, serving, and time management within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, to high standards of quality and presentation
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area, including sanitising surfaces and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling snacks or light meals when required
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times
Manage multiple orders during busy periods while maintaining excellent customer service
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation throughout shifts

Qualifications

Previous barista experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Experience in serving customers with professionalism and friendliness
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients
Ability to perform food preparation tasks efficiently and accurately
Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude towards teamwork and customer interaction
Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as required
