Full job description

Job Overview

Deeks and King Accountants are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our small, friendly team based in Ipswich. We are a local accountancy firm with the business evolving and growing.

Working Monday, Tuesday & Friday, 9.00/9.30am to 2.00/2.30pm (around 15 hours a week). There is a possibility for these hours to increase in the future depending on the applicant’s skill set and the business’s need.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately calculating and recording client income and expenses to assist with tax return and accounts completion, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role would suit someone looking to progress and development within the accountancy industry.

Duties

Calculate client income and expenses accurately.
Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date financial records
Reconcile bank statements to ensure consistency and accuracy
Provide support in preparing tax returns and other regulatory filings.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
A small amount of general office duties including telephone answering & filing.

Skills

Level 2 in accounting or previous accounting position experience.
Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail
Good knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel, Word & Outlook.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

This role provides an excellent platform for career development within the accountancy industry, offering exposure to various accounting systems and processes. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to learn in a supportive environment. There is potential for support to be provided for accounting qualification's via college.

Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour
