Casual Support Worker – YMCA Leicestershire

Location: Leicester City Centre/ Aylestone

Contract: Zero Hours Contract (As and when required between the hours of 7.30am – 10pm and weekends)

Salary: £12,97 per hour

An opportunity to make a genuine difference

We're looking for Casual Support Workers to work within our Housing and Homelessness teams to provide support to the young people who are residents at YMCA Leicestershire and to offer practical support to adults using the Y Advice & Support Centre (YASC).

As a Casual Support Worker, you will help create safe, welcoming and supportive environments where young people and adults experiencing homelessness can build confidence, develop independence and move towards brighter futures. Every shift provides an opportunity to make a genuine difference by responding with kindness, professionalism and hope.

What success looks like

Young people and adults feel welcomed, respected and safe.
People are encouraged to recognise their strengths and take positive steps towards independence.
Residents and service users receive consistent, reliable support during every shift.
Safeguarding concerns are recognised promptly and acted upon appropriately.
Colleagues can rely on you to provide flexible support wherever it is needed.

What you will bring

Experience working with young people, vulnerable adults or people experiencing homelessness.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic IT skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Understanding of confidentiality.
Good standard of literacy and numeracy.
Willingness and ability to complete all mandatory training.
