Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Third in Charge & Curriculum Lead to join our vibrant and welcoming nursery. In this pivotal role, you will support the management team in overseeing daily nursery operations while leading the development and implementation of engaging, age-appropriate activities. Your passion for working with children and strong leadership skills will ensure a nurturing environment where young learners thrive. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence educational quality, mentor staff, and contribute to creating a joyful, safe, and stimulating space for children to grow and explore.

Responsibilities

Assist the management team in supervising daily nursery operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning
Lead curriculum planning by designing innovative, developmentally appropriate activities that promote early childhood learning and development
Support and mentor nursery staff to uphold high standards of childcare and education
Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth among children
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations at all times
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children's progress and daily experiences
Contribute to staff training sessions, sharing best practices in early childhood education and childcare techniques
Maintain accurate records related to children's development, attendance, and safety protocols
Support recruitment efforts by participating in interviews and onboarding new team members when needed
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance curriculum quality and overall nursery operations

Qualifications

Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting with leadership responsibilities
Extensive experience working with children in early childhood education or childcare environments
Strong knowledge of child development principles and nursery best practices
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and support staff teams
Childcare qualifications or certifications relevant to early childhood education (e.g., CACHE Level 3 or equivalent)
Experience working specifically within nursery settings is highly preferred
Valid driving license is advantageous for transportation duties or outreach activities
Ability to work flexible hours as required by nursery operations
