Full job description

Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Housekeeper / Cook to join the team at our 6-bed care home in Crewe. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a compassionate and professional team, providing a comfortable and safe environment for the people we support. Your dedication to detail and proactive approach will help create a positive atmosphere for everyone who enters.

Duties:

Preparing and cooking nutritious, home-cooked meals tailored to residents’ needs.
Managing kitchen stock, meal planning, and food safety compliance.
Ensuring all food preparation meets dietary requirements, including modified textures for individuals with dysphagia (training can be provided).
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home by dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitising surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
Restock supplies such as cleaning materials to ensure operational efficiency.
Laundry and housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including floors, windows, furniture, and fixtures.
Follow established safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment during all cleaning activities.
Report any maintenance issues or damages promptly to ensure timely repairs and uphold safety standards.
Adhere to health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a hygienic environment.

Requirements:

Understanding of dysphagia and texture-modified diets (advantageous).
A passion for cooking and providing high-quality meals.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience in a care home or similar environment is desirable but not essential.
