JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

Job Title: Production Operator

Responsible to: Production Manager

Responsible for: None

Location: Sleaford

Work Times: 8am to 4pm (Monday to Friday). A degree of flexibility will be needed at peak periods.

Summary and Purpose

Established in 2009 in Sleaford Lincolnshire SHD remain committed to providing exceptional levels of service and flexibility coupled with a wealth of experience within the composite industry. SHD Composite Materials Ltd are the leading edge of advance composites technology and manufacture a wide range of thermoset prepregs, which include carbon, glass, aramid, natural and hybrid fabrics whilst also offering a toll impregnation service.

The purpose of this role is the manufacture of pre-impregnated composite materials to Aerospace accredited standards.

Person Specification

In this role, you will be responsible for handling and monitoring manufacturing machines ensuring that everything is running smoothly and according to schedule.

Key Responsibilities

· Always adhere to company Health & Safety procedures including external compliance such as COSHH.

· Working to company Quality standards (to AS9100 requirements) and Production tolerances.

· Efficiently produce resin mixes within your team to support the Production team in meeting the requirements of the daily Production Plan.

· Working as an effective team member and assisting your Team Leader and Senior Operators to meet team targets, Production targets and KPIs.

· Set up and operation of ovens, bowl washes, mixers etc.

· Maintenance of machinery including cleaning down at the end of every day.

· Assisting with stock control and cyclic stock counts.

· Maintaining the highest standard of housekeeping to keep a clean, working environment.

· Waste reduction and Production cost minimisation.

· Generating paperwork where required.

· Prepare samples for analysis after each run/batch.

· To undertake any other duties from time to time as can be reasonable requested by the company.

You will be given full training in all areas of Production (Set Up, End of Line, Inspection, Coating Head and Resin Mixing).

Skills and Ability

· Good understanding of English and Maths.

· Basic Computer Skills.

· Attention to detail.

· The ability to work within a team and work without supervision once trained.

· Clear and effective communicator

· Must be able to walk/stand for 8 hours a day on concrete floors
