About the role:

Are you passionate about tackling domestic abuse, reducing reoffending and creating safer communities? Do you have the skills to engage and motivate individuals to make positive changes in their lives?

Equation is committed to breaking the cycle of abuse by delivering evidence-based interventions that address the root causes of unhealthy abusive behaviours in all relationships, doing so with positivity, passion, rigour, compassion and collaboration. We give space to individuals to reflect, take accountability for their actions and support them in making long-lasting, positive changes.

Our innovative, community-based perpetrator programme works directly with individuals who have used harmful behaviours, supporting them to change, while keeping survivors and children at the heart of our work.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Equation, a Nottinghamshire based, award winning and innovative charity dedicated to preventing and responding to domestic and sexual violence and abuse.

We’re looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting Equation’s to aid achieve the goal stipulated within national to reduce domestic abuse, by addressing perpetration at its root causes in a community-based approach. This role is available within Equation’s perpetrator services, aiding with the organisation of the Your Choice Project, our Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Programme (DAPP), and Project CARA, a Police Out of Court Resolution for standard risk domestic abuse offences. This pivotal role involves working closely with the team and those who have been identified as survivors of domestic abuse. This role has responsibilities specifically focused on engaging with survivors, both directly and through liaison with partner agencies. Key Responsibilities: As a Survivor Project Liaison Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting survivors of domestic abuse by providing information, emotional wellbeing support and access to specialist services, while also helping to support and promote our Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Projects.

Key responsibilities include:

Building relationships with partner agencies, delivering presentations and attending outreach events to promote our perpetrator programmes and increase appropriate referrals.
Delivering the Project CARA Victim Contact Service by contacting survivors, providing information about the programme and offering emotional wellbeing support.
Responding sensitively to disclosures of domestic abuse, completing risk identification where required, and referring or signposting survivors to specialist domestic abuse support services.
Supporting the smooth coordination of our perpetrator programmes through effective communication, organisation and partnership working.

We are looking for someone who:

Has the ability to manage sensitive and challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
Has knowledgeable about safeguarding procedures and domestic abuse legislation.
Possesses knowledge and passion around domestic abuse offending and recidivism, who is keen to develop and learn new skills.
Good organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
Understands the dynamics of domestic abuse and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable
Is committed to equality, safety, and empowerment for all
Holds a relevant qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, or similar (or equivalent experience)

Location:

In person at Equation offices or community venues

Salary:

£25,870.51 pa, £12,935.26 pro rata

Contract:

Fixed Term until 31 March 2027, with the possibility of an extension, depending upon funding

Hours:

Part-time 18.5 hours per week
