Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant settings. The role is ideal for those with a passion for hospitality and a desire to develop their culinary skills.

Duties

Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors.
Support the organisation of kitchen storage areas, including stock rotation and inventory management.
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and other areas within the kitchen to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures efficiently.
Support the team during busy service periods by ensuring all necessary items are prepared and available.
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or contamination.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Experience in food preparation or cooking is desirable but not mandatory.
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and basic culinary procedures can be beneficial.
A background in serving or hospitality roles demonstrates strong organisational skills and customer service awareness.
