Job Summary

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter and become an essential part of delivering exceptional dining experiences. In this lively role, you will support the kitchen operations by maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. Your energy and attention to detail will help ensure that chefs can focus on creating delicious dishes while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment, perfect for those passionate about food, cooking, and hospitality.

Duties

Thoroughly clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to uphold health standards
Assist with food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs, including basic ingredient handling and mise en place setup
Support the storage and organization of ingredients, supplies, and kitchen tools to maintain an orderly workspace
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed diligently
Help with dishwashing duties, ensuring all cookware, crockery, and cutlery are spotless and ready for use
Maintain cleanliness in communal areas such as walk-in refrigerators, storage rooms, and staff areas
Support the kitchen team during busy service times by providing efficient assistance wherever needed

Qualifications

Prior experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is highly desirable but not essential; enthusiasm is key!
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is a plus
Strong understanding of hygiene standards within a commercial kitchen environment
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks comfortably
Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and kitchen safety
