Overview

Join our dedicated team as an Activity Coordinator and bring joy, engagement, and meaningful experiences to our residents. In this vital role, you will develop and implement a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively, inclusive environment where residents feel valued, connected, and inspired to participate in enriching activities every day.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being for residents.
Assess individual resident preferences and abilities to create personalized activity plans that enhance quality of life.
Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with residents’ care plans, especially for those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Maintain a safe environment during activities, ensuring all participants’ safety and comfort.
Document participation and observe residents’ responses to tailor future activities effectively.
Coordinate special events, outings, and themed programs that encourage community involvement.
Communicate regularly with residents’ families and team members about activity participation and resident engagement levels.

Skills

Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home settings, with a strong understanding of senior care needs.
Knowledge of dementia care strategies and Alzheimer’s care best practices.
Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with seniors, families, and team members.
Creativity in designing diverse activities that cater to varying interests and cognitive abilities.
Ability to motivate residents and foster an inclusive, positive atmosphere.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Compassionate caregiving attitude with a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of seniors through engaging programs.

Pay: £12.85 per hour
