Admin Assistant (Part Time)

Location: Gordale Garden Centre, Burton, Wirral

Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Working Days: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (fixed days)

Contract: Permanent, Part Time

Pay: Starting at £13.69 per hour, with further increases in line with length of service.

Closing Date: Sunday 9th August 2026

The Role

We're looking for an organised, friendly and proactive Admin Assistant to join our busy office team.

This is a varied role within a fast-paced retail environment where no two days are the same. Alongside providing administrative support, you'll play an important part in the day-to-day running of the garden centre by assisting customers, supporting departments across the business and helping on the tills during busy trading periods.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has excellent attention to detail and understands the pace and demands of a busy retail business.

What You'll Be Doing

Administration

Answering incoming telephone calls and emails professionally and efficiently.
Processing delivery notes, invoices, purchase orders and stock information accurately.
Liaising with suppliers regarding deliveries, shortages, claims and credit requests.
Maintaining accurate records and supporting the smooth running of the office.
Ordering and maintaining office stationery and office supplies.

Customer Service

Supporting customers with enquiries both in person and over the telephone.
Coordinating customer deliveries and resolving any issues promptly.
Processing gift card purchases and telephone payments.
Supporting the administration of our customer loyalty scheme.

Retail Support

Assisting on the tills during busy periods.
Supporting departments across the garden centre when required.
Responding positively to the changing needs of the business during peak trading periods.

Maintaining Standards

Ensuring the office and work areas remain organised, safe and tidy.
Following all company procedures, including Health & Safety and GDPR requirements.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across all departments.

We're Looking For Someone Who

Has previous experience working within a retail environment.
Has excellent administrative and organisational skills.
Has a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Is confident communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
Is comfortable using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems (training will be provided on our in-house systems).
Can prioritise workloads and work independently.
Has a positive, flexible approach and enjoys supporting different areas of the business.
Is passionate about providing outstanding customer service.
