About Us

Andalucia Tapas & Wine Bar is a vibrant, thriving tapas restaurant in the heart of Ferring, recently recognised as the Best Sussex Restaurant 2026 and awarded 7th Best Team in Sussex at the BRAVO Awards.

Known for outstanding food, premium wines, cocktails, and memorable hospitality, we are proud to be a go-to destination in Sussex.

This year, we have expanded with an exciting new project. Privado, our premium private dining and events space. This development will bring new experiences for our guests and requires strong leadership to help shape the next chapter of our business.

With continued growth and high demand, we are now looking for a driven and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our leadership team.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in leading the kitchen team and delivering consistently high-quality food. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a motivated chef ready to take the next step in their career within a forward-thinking and ambitious operation.

You will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, maintaining standards at all times while contributing creatively to menu development and service execution.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the business at a pivotal time. We have recently completed a major modern refurbishment designed by an award-winning restaurant designer and are preparing to expand operations throughout 2026. The successful candidate will be an integral part of this growth journey.

Salary & Benefits

£34,000 per annum, based on a 40-hour working week (excluding gratuities)
Gratuities paid per hour worked, averaging £500–£900 per calendar month, paid monthly via wages

Key Responsibilities

Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Work closely with FOH, bar, and management teams to ensure outstanding guest experiences
Lead food preparation, oversee the pass, and step into any section as required
Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen brigade
Oversee food preparation and service for lunch and dinner
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
Assist with menu development, specials, and continuous improvement
Manage stock control, ordering, and wastage
Step into the Head Chef role when required

About You

Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef, ideally within Mediterranean or similar fresh, seasonal cuisine
Passion for high-quality food and fresh ingredients
Strong leadership and communication skills
Solid knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance
Flexible, reliable, and team-oriented
Calm, positive under pressure, with a commitment to exceptional guest experiences

This is a full-time position that includes evenings, weekends, and split shifts. Weekend availability is essential due to the nature of the hospitality industry.
