Full job description

GHC Group is a Scotland-based renewable energy business delivering Air Source Heat Pump, Solar PV, and Battery Energy Storage System installations to domestic and commercial clients, alongside our woodchip supply operations. As we scale our operations, we are seeking an experienced, hands-on Managing Director to take ownership of our Sales and Marketing functions and drive a culture of accountability and performance across the team.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors and shareholders, the Managing Director will take full ownership of the Sales and Marketing functions, ensuring daily accountability, consistent performance standards, and clear, accurate reporting. This is a highly visible leadership role suited to a candidate who thrives on structure, discipline, and building high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the Sales and Marketing functions of the business end-to-end.
Ensure daily accountability across all Sales and Marketing team members, with clear performance tracking.
Provide accurate management information reports twice weekly, and a comprehensive monthly report to the Board of Directors and shareholders.
Implement regimented supervision and structured performance management across the team.
Train, coach, and develop team members into accountable, high-performing individuals.
Set and monitor sales targets, KPIs, and marketing objectives aligned with business growth plans.
Identify performance gaps and implement corrective action plans promptly.
Build and maintain robust processes, CRM discipline, and SOP adherence across the team.
Act as a key point of accountability to the Board for commercial performance.

What We're Looking For

Proven track record in a senior Sales and/or Marketing leadership role, ideally at Director or Managing Director level.
Strong, confident leadership style with the ability to instil discipline and regimented supervision.
Demonstrable experience training and developing individuals into accountable, target-driven performers.
Excellent reporting and management information skills, with high attention to accuracy and detail.
Comfortable operating with direct, regular accountability to a Board of Directors and shareholders.
Experience in the renewable energy, construction, or home improvement sector is advantageous but not essential.
Resilient, results-driven, and comfortable holding others to a high standard.

Salary of £60,000 per annum, plus performance-related bonuses (OTE £110,000).
