Full job description

Job Overview
We are looking for a part-time person to join our friendly team working in a charity run community café.

Role will include cooking and serving our great value breakfasts and lunches, customer service and working with and helping support our great team of volunteers

Duties

Working as part of our friendly and supportive team
Preparation and cooking of all menu items
Completion of all daily checks and recording documentation
Following food hygiene guidelines and ensure safe food handling and preparation at all times
Customer service
Money handling and use of point of sale system
Support and mentoring of volunteers, some of whom may have additional needs
Stock checking
Cleaning of café area at end of shift

Requirements

Previous café experience would be desirable but not essential
Being able to prepare and cook menu items including breakfasts and light lunches
Friendly approach
Ability to work with a wide range of people who use our cafe
Some flexibility around hours to cover colleagues leave etc.
Ability to follow health and safety and food hygiene guidelines
Undertaking Food Safety Level 2 Qualification and additional training as required
Ability to undertake responsibility for running of café independently when required

This is a great opportunity to work for a small charity whose projects are based around supporting the local community

Pay: £12.71 per hour
