We’re looking for an experienced, quality-focused Residential Service Manager to lead an established residential service in Burton-on-Trent.

The service supports young adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the realities of complex care and is confident leading an established service where positive behaviour support, risk management, and person-centred practice are essential.

About the service

The service supports young adults with varying levels of learning disabilities and complex needs.

As Service Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and building on the strong foundations already in place, ensuring people receive high-quality, person-centred support while continuing to develop the team and service.

You’ll play a key role in supporting people to develop life skills, increase independence, and live meaningful, active lives in the community. Strong, visible leadership will be essential to maintaining a safe, stable, and positive environment and driving continuous improvement.

Your role

You’ll have overall responsibility for the quality, safety, and performance of the service, including:

Leading the day-to-day and 24-hour operational management of the service
Maintaining and continuously improving high standards of care
Ensuring the service meets and exceeds CQC Fundamental Standards
Maintaining CQC registration, including notifications and compliance processes
Embedding positive behaviour support, risk management, and person-centred planning
Leading, supporting, developing, and performance-managing staff
Managing budgets, rotas, staffing, occupancy, and KPIs
Identifying opportunities for service improvement and positive outcomes
Building strong relationships with families, professionals, commissioners, and internal teams

You’ll be supported by an experienced Area Manager and an Internal PBS Specialist, alongside tailored training and development.

Who we’re looking for

This role will suit someone confident, resilient, and values-led, with a strong background in complex residential care.

You’ll bring:

Proven experience managing residential services for people with learning disabilities and complex needs
Experience supporting young adults and high-acuity services
Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and health & social care legislation
A solid understanding of positive behaviour support and risk management
Excellent leadership, communication, and staff management skills
The ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in challenging situations
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
Flexibility to meet the needs of the service
