Job Overview

The Millstone Takeaway is a small business located within The Old Mill Village Shop, just outside of Truro in Blackwater. We are professional, agile, fast paced, and our goal is to give our customers a light hearted enjoyable experience in their short time collecting their day-to-day necessities. And we pride ourselves on excellent and enjoyable service.

The pay system will be determined by experience and ability.

The position is 30-40 hours and permanent. And includes evenings and weekends.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have a passion for catering and a keen interest in providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and outgoing personality, be detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with customers, and contributing to a memorable dining experiences.

Responsibilities and requirements:

Previous experience in food and kitchen environment and hospitality is essential.
Greet customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
Assist customers with product selection and provide advice on product features.
Answer customer inquiries and provide accurate information about products and services.
Essential experience in cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items in accordance with food safety standards.
Prepare meals and side dishes according to customers needs and preferences.
Handle phone calls professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
Maintain a clean and organized environment.
Ensure that the merchandise is properly stocked and displayed.
Process payments accurately and efficiently.
Assist with inventory control.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and team members professionally.
Collaborate with staff to ensure timely service.
Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in data entry and record management.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by schedules.
