Clinic Manager
£38,000–£42,000 per year + performance-related bonus
Full-time | 40 hours per week | 3 Saturdays per month
The Opportunity
Are you an ambitious manager looking for the opportunity to take greater ownership, lead a team and develop your career within a growing private healthcare business?
You may already manage a clinic or practice, or you may currently be an Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or Team Leader within healthcare, hospitality, retail or another high-quality customer-facing environment and feel ready for your next challenge.
Aventus Clinic is looking for an ambitious Clinic Manager to join our leadership team and progressively take ownership of the day-to-day management and performance of our established Hitchin clinic.
We are looking for someone who has already demonstrated the ability to manage people, take responsibility and solve operational problems.
Previous healthcare experience is advantageous, but not essential. We will give you the time and support to understand Aventus, our clinical services and the healthcare environment while giving you increasing responsibility and autonomy as your knowledge develops.
Our objective is for you to take ownership of the day-to-day operational management and performance of the Hitchin clinic, allowing our senior leadership team to focus increasingly on clinical leadership and the wider growth of the organisation.
This is a hands-on leadership role with genuine responsibility for people, performance and how the clinic operates.
For the right person, it is an opportunity to have real influence over the clinic you manage and develop your career alongside a growing business.
About Aventus Clinic
Aventus Clinic is an established and growing private healthcare clinic based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
We provide specialist services across dermatology, skin surgery, hair restoration, laser and aesthetic treatments, bringing together a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and support staff.
We have grown significantly over recent years and are now strengthening our management structure as we enter the next stage of our development.
We also have ambitions to grow Aventus beyond our current location, creating potential longer-term opportunities as the organisation develops.
Development & Progression
We recognise that every new manager needs time to understand a new organisation — and for those joining us from outside healthcare, a new sector.
Your first few months will focus on learning Aventus, including our services, patient pathways, team, systems and operational standards, while progressively taking greater ownership of the clinic.
The pace at which responsibility transfers will reflect your previous experience and your developing understanding of the business.
If you already manage a clinic or practice, you may naturally progress more quickly. If you are stepping up from a deputy or assistant management position, or joining us from another sector, we will provide the support needed to develop confidently into the role.
We are not looking to teach someone management from scratch. We are looking for someone who already demonstrates leadership, ownership and sound judgement and can apply those skills successfully within Aventus.
As Aventus grows, we expect further opportunities for strong performers to develop with the organisation.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the clinic
- Leading, supporting and developing the clinic team
- Managing rotas, annual leave, sickness and staffing requirements
- Conducting 1:1s and supporting staff performance management
- Monitoring KPIs and reporting on clinic performance
- Supporting revenue, conversion and clinic utilisation targets
- Maintaining excellent standards of patient experience
- Managing operational patient concerns and complaints
- Supporting recruitment, induction and onboarding
- Ensuring policies, procedures and SOPs are followed
- Supporting CQC compliance and operational standards
- Coordinating clinicians, treatment rooms and clinic capacity
- Overseeing stock, equipment, suppliers and facilities
- Identifying operational problems and implementing solutions
- Improving systems and processes as the clinic develops
This is a hands-on management role. We want someone who notices problems, takes responsibility and helps solve them rather than simply escalating them.
Who We're Looking For
Your current or previous role might include:
- Clinic or Practice Manager
- Deputy or Assistant Practice Manager
- Deputy Clinic Manager
- Healthcare Team Leader
- Hotel or Hospitality Manager / Assistant Manager
- Retail Store Manager / Deputy Manager
- Customer Service or Operations Manager within a high-quality service environment
- Another comparable people-management role within a busy customer-facing organisation
Previous experience within private healthcare, dentistry, aesthetics or another regulated environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong people management, operational responsibility, commercial awareness and consistently high standards of customer service.
You should be:
- Confident managing and motivating people
- Comfortable giving feedback and addressing performance issues
- Highly organised and able to prioritise
- Commercially aware and comfortable with KPIs and targets
- Calm and practical when problems arise
- Confident making decisions and taking ownership
- Professional and confident dealing with patients, customers and colleagues
- Comfortable being hands-on when required
- Interested in continuing to develop your management and leadership career
Aventus is a growing business and our systems continue to develop. You should therefore be comfortable with change and enjoy improving processes rather than simply following them.
Who This Role May Not Suit
This role is unlikely to suit someone looking for a predominantly remote or desk-based management position.
It requires someone comfortable with accountability, commercial targets, managing staff performance and being actively involved in day-to-day clinic operations.
The position requires working 3 Saturdays per month, so it will not suit someone looking for a Monday-to-Friday role.
You do not need previous experience as a Clinic Manager, but you should already be able to demonstrate experience of leading or supervising people and taking responsibility within a busy operational environment.
Salary & Benefits
- £38,000–£42,000 per year, depending on experience
- Performance-related bonus
- Full-time, permanent position
- Structured induction and development
- Regular performance and development reviews
- Employee benefits and clinic treatment discounts
- Pension scheme
- Opportunity to develop within a growing private healthcare organisation
Working Pattern
This is a full-time, clinic-based position working 40 hours across 5 days per week.
You will work 3 Saturdays per month, with 1-2 weekdays off a week as part of your working pattern.
This is not a remote management role. We want our Clinic Manager to be a visible presence within the clinic, build strong relationships with the team and take genuine ownership of its day-to-day operation.
Why Join Aventus?
Whether you are already managing a clinic or practice, stepping into your first Clinic Manager position, or bringing strong management experience from another customer-focused sector, this role offers the opportunity to take genuine ownership within a growing private healthcare business.
Rather than joining a large organisation where you may be one of many managers, you will have the opportunity to make a visible impact on how the clinic operates, how the team develops and how the business grows.
If you are joining healthcare from another sector, we will provide training and support to help you understand our clinical services, patient pathways, systems and healthcare-specific requirements.
We will give you the time and support to understand Aventus properly while giving capable managers the autonomy to manage.
In return, we are looking for someone who wants responsibility, progression and the opportunity to influence the next stage of our development.
If you are an ambitious manager ready for greater responsibility and the opportunity to make a genuine impact, we would like to hear from you.
Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
