Job Summary

Aylesbury Premier Building Services (APBS) is a trusted provider of responsive repairs, planned maintenance, refurbishment, and property improvement services across Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas. Working with housing providers, local authorities, schools, care providers, and commercial clients, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Carpenter / Multi-Trade Operative to join our expanding team. This role is ideally suited to a skilled carpenter who takes pride in their work and can confidently undertake a variety of property maintenance and repair tasks whilst delivering outstanding service to our clients and residents.

Duties

Carry out all aspects of first and second fix carpentry.
Repair, ease, adjust and replace internal and external doors, frames, ironmongery, locks, and door closers.
Install and repair skirting boards, architraves, handrails, balustrades, stair components, and timber structures.
Fit kitchens, including units, worktops, plinths, end panels, and associated carpentry works.
Undertake repairs and replacements to fencing, gates, sheds, and other external timber structures.
Install and repair flooring, boxing-in, cupboards, shelving, and bespoke timber items.
Carry out fire door repairs, adjustments, and installations where appropriately trained.
Complete window repairs and timber window maintenance where required.
The ability to carry out supporting trades, subject but not limited to plumbing, making good, tiling, plastering and other responsive related trades.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Carpenter, preferably within repairs, maintenance, voids, or planned works.
Skilled in all aspects of first and second fix carpentry, including doors, frames, locks, kitchens, skirting, architraves, flooring, and general timber repairs.
Ability to carry out associated multi-trade works such as basic plumbing, patch plastering, tiling, decorating, and general building repairs.
Experience working in occupied residential properties, delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a professional approach at all times.
Ability to diagnose defects and complete repairs efficiently to a high standard.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
Able to work independently, manage workloads effectively, and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with residents, clients, and colleagues.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent experience) desirable.
Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
DBS check required.
CSCS card desirable.
