The role:

This is more than a social media role. It is an opportunity to shape how one of the UK's most iconic cities communicates with hundreds of thousands of people every day
You'll create engaging content that informs, inspires and connects people with the services, opportunities and events that make a difference to their lives, while helping them understand what is going on in the council and in their local area

You'll create compelling content across our social media channels, producing everything from eye-catching graphics and engaging copy to reels, stories and short-form video
Working alongside communications, engagement and marketing colleagues, you'll help bring major campaigns, city events and local success stories to life. One day you could be filming at a community event, the next creating content that helps residents understand important council services or showcasing investment that is transforming local neighbourhoods
You'll use insight and performance data to continually improve content and identify new opportunities to grow engagement, increase reach and connect with new audiences
We're looking for someone who lives and breathes social media. Most importantly, you'll bring fresh ideas, creative thinking and a social-first approach to everything you do
You'll have experience creating highly engaging content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and emerging channels. You'll understand what makes audiences engage, share and act
