TRAFFIC CLERK – TIPTON NATIONAL HUB

MONDAY TO FRIDAY | 18:00 START | £13.69 PER HOUR

Are you an organised and confident communicator who enjoys working in a busy transport environment?

Clarke Transport, one of the UK’s leading privately owned multi-service transport organisations, is recruiting a Traffic Clerk to join the team at our National Hub in Tipton.

THE ROLE

Working alongside the depot management and operational teams, you will help coordinate daily transport activity and ensure drivers receive accurate route and delivery information.

You will communicate regularly with drivers, customers, warehouse colleagues and other departments to help ensure collections and deliveries are completed efficiently while maintaining an excellent level of customer service.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the planning, organisation and monitoring of daily transport operations
Provide drivers with accurate route, collection and delivery information
Monitor key customer deliveries and provide timely ETA updates
Record and communicate delays, delivery issues and operational changes
Ensure daily collection requirements are completed
Assist with driver debriefs and performance monitoring
Maintain an accurate flow of information between the traffic office and warehouse
Prepare reports and spreadsheets for internal departments and customers
Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, colleagues and customers
Support compliance with Working Time Directive, drivers’ hours and relevant health and safety requirements
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer service
Complete general administrative duties associated with the traffic operation

Can remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
Is comfortable using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Can work independently and use their own initiative
Works well as part of a busy operational team
Takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail
Has a positive attitude and a genuine desire to develop within transport and logistics

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITHIN A TRANSPORT, TRAFFIC OR LOGISTICS ENVIRONMENT WOULD BE BENEFICIAL.

You will be expected to support and maintain a safe working environment by:

Following company policies, procedures and safe working practices
Attending required health and safety training
Identifying and reporting hazards or potential risks
Keeping work areas tidy, safe and free from hazards
Using the training provided to complete duties safely
Taking responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others

PAY AND BENEFITS

£13.69 per hour
Monday to Friday working
20 days’ annual leave plus eight statutory bank holidays
One additional day of annual leave for each completed year after four years’ service, up to a maximum of five additional days
£20,000 death-in-service benefit
