Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Breakfast Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation and service of breakfast offerings in a hotel setting, ensuring guests receive excellent service in a welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, guest services, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Previous experience in hospitality, food preparation, or restaurant environments is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience within the hospitality industry.

Duties

Prepare and serve breakfast items according to established recipes and standards
Assist with food presentation and plating to ensure visual appeal
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas in compliance with food safety regulations
Replenish buffet stations and ensure all serving areas are well-stocked throughout service
Support with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients
Deliver excellent guest services by greeting guests warmly and responding promptly to their needs
Handle phone inquiries courteously, providing information about breakfast offerings and timings
Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines at all times during food handling and service
Assist with setting up breakfast areas before service begins and cleaning up after service concludes

Skills

Previous experience in hospitality, food preparation, or restaurant environments is advantageous
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Strong communication skills for effective guest interaction and team collaboration
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy breakfast periods
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience as a delivery driver or in meal delivery can be beneficial but is not essential
Familiarity with kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and basic culinary skills
Excellent phone etiquette for handling guest enquiries professionally
Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail in food presentation and hygiene standards
