Full job description

YB Hair Studio Ltd is a customer-facing hair and beauty business based at 786 London Road, Thornton Heath, CR7 6JB. We are seeking an experienced Marketing Consultant to develop and manage the Company’s marketing activities, improve its digital presence, increase customer enquiries and bookings, strengthen customer retention, and support the continued commercial growth of the salon.

This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position for 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £41,700 per annum. The successful candidate will work directly for YB Hair Studio Ltd and will not be supplied to any third party.

The Marketing Consultant will review the Company’s current marketing activity and develop and implement an integrated marketing strategy covering digital marketing, social media, customer acquisition, customer retention, local partnerships, online visibility and campaign performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

Reviewing the Company’s services, pricing, customer profile, existing promotional activity and target market to identify current and future marketing requirements.
Conducting competitor and local market research covering Thornton Heath and surrounding areas, including competitor pricing, service positioning, online visibility, customer reviews and promotional activity.
Preparing and implementing a structured marketing strategy designed to increase customer enquiries, bookings, repeat visits and referrals.
Developing and managing marketing campaigns across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Google Business Profile and other appropriate digital platforms.
Planning and overseeing paid digital advertising campaigns where commercially appropriate.
Creating and managing a content strategy covering hair transformations, styling results, customer testimonials, service information, promotions and seasonal campaigns.
Producing or coordinating suitable written, photographic and video content for the Company’s marketing channels.
Developing customer acquisition and retention initiatives, including referral programmes, loyalty incentives, targeted offers, promotional packages and follow-up campaigns.
Monitoring customer engagement, enquiries, bookings, campaign expenditure and return on advertising investment.
Preparing regular performance reports and providing recommendations to the Company Director.
Developing relationships with local businesses, community organisations, event organisers, influencers and other potential promotional partners.
Improving the Company’s Google search presence and local online visibility.
Advising on and coordinating improvements to the Company’s website, online booking visibility and customer review systems.
Maintaining an organised marketing calendar and ensuring that campaigns are delivered within agreed timescales and budgets.
Ensuring that all marketing activity is appropriate to the Company’s brand, resources, customer base and operational capacity.

Applicants must have at least three years of relevant professional experience in marketing, digital promotion, advertising, customer engagement, campaign development or a closely related field.

Applicants should also have demonstrable experience of developing and implementing digital marketing campaigns, using social media platforms for commercial marketing, conducting market and competitor research, and managing customer acquisition and retention activities.

The successful candidate must be able to analyse campaign performance, customer engagement and advertising expenditure, prepare clear marketing plans and performance reports, communicate effectively, work independently and establish suitable marketing systems within a small business.

No particular academic degree is mandatory. Applicants will be assessed primarily on their relevant experience, practical marketing ability and capacity to perform the advertised duties.

Applicants should submit an up-to-date CV and a covering letter explaining how their experience meets the requirements of the role. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview and may be asked to explain how they would develop a practical marketing strategy for a small salon business.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate their legal right to work in the United Kingdom before commencing employment. YB Hair Studio Ltd may consider sponsorship for the successful candidate where the relevant immigration and sponsorship requirements are met.
