About LLCompany
LLCompany is a specialist interiors company supplying high-quality architectural and interior products to homeowners, interior designers, architects and trade customers throughout the UK and internationally.
Our product range includes library ladder systems, architectural mouldings, wall panelling, pocket door systems and specialist interior hardware.
We are looking for a reliable, practical and exceptionally thorough Warehouse & Fulfilment Operative to take responsibility for picking, packing and dispatching customer orders from our Cirencester premises.
This is a hands-on role within a small business and would suit someone who takes real pride in getting things right, works methodically and is comfortable managing their own workload.
The Role
Working under our Business Manager and closely alongside our Stock & Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for the physical fulfilment of customer orders and the day-to-day organisation of our stock room and fulfilment area.
Our orders are quite different from those in a conventional high-volume warehouse.
Many orders are made up of multiple individual component parts, with a number of visually similar products and variations. Some products are also particularly long or unusually shaped and require careful and sometimes involved packaging before they can be safely dispatched.
Accuracy and thoroughness are therefore extremely important.
You will take responsibility for the fulfilment process from printing and picking an order through to packing it securely, preparing it for courier collection and recording its dispatch within Shopify.
Picking, Packing & Dispatch
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Printing customer orders from Shopify
- Picking the correct products and component parts from our stock room
- Carefully checking product codes, quantities, finishes and components against each order
- Ensuring all required components and paperwork are included
- Packaging products carefully and securely for transit
- Preparing long, oversized and unusually shaped products for courier collection
- Ensuring products are sufficiently protected and packages are well secured
- Recording the final weight and dimensions of each package
- Adding completed packages to the courier collection list
- Printing and applying the correct shipping labels
- Contacting the courier to confirm the day's collection
- Ensuring all completed orders are ready for collection within the required timeframe
- Updating dispatched orders within Shopify with the relevant shipping and tracking information
Courier collections generally take place between 12:00pm and 1:30pm, so you'll need to be able to organise and prioritise the morning's workload effectively.
Once shipping information is entered into Shopify, this automatically generates the customer's dispatch notification. Accuracy when entering order and tracking information is therefore essential.
We stock a number of components that can look very similar but are not interchangeable, so every order must be thoroughly checked before it leaves us.
Stock Deliveries & Forklift Operation
Approximately every three months, we receive larger incoming stock deliveries consisting of around three to four large crates.
A forklift is hired specifically for these deliveries and is not required as part of the normal day-to-day role.
We are looking for someone with previous forklift-driving experience who is comfortable safely unloading and moving larger stock deliveries.
A current forklift certificate would be advantageous. However, for the right candidate with previous forklift experience whose certification requires updating, we would be happy to arrange appropriate refresher training.
Larger stock shipments can occasionally arrive outside the normal Monday, Wednesday and Friday working pattern. Some flexibility to work an alternative or additional day on these occasional delivery dates would therefore be appreciated. We will provide as much notice as possible.
Stock Room & General Responsibilities
Alongside customer order fulfilment, you'll help ensure our stock and fulfilment areas remain safe, organised and efficient.
This will include:
- Keeping stock locations organised and clearly maintained
- Replenishing stock boxes and picking locations when required
- Maintaining a clean, clear and tidy working environment
- Following all warehouse and workplace Health & Safety procedures
- Reporting Health & Safety concerns or equipment issues promptly
- Identifying and reporting damaged, returned or incorrectly stored products
- Ensuring stock removed on an ad-hoc basis is recorded and reported to the Stock & Logistics Coordinator
- Flagging low levels of packaging materials before they run out
- Assisting with physical stock counts when required
- Reporting stock discrepancies or anything that does not appear correct
About You
For this role, your approach to your work matters enormously to us.
We are looking for someone who is naturally careful, methodical and thorough.
You'll be handling high-value customer orders containing multiple components, so this isn't a high-volume picking role where speed is the only priority.
We would rather an order takes a little longer to prepare and leaves us completely correct, carefully checked and properly protected for transit.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Exceptionally thorough and detail-focused
- Reliable and punctual
- Practical and comfortable with hands-on work
- Methodical when following an order from picking through to dispatch
- Confident checking product codes, quantities and similar-looking components
- Able to work independently and manage the morning's workload
- Comfortable using a computer for straightforward order-processing tasks
- Willing and able to learn Shopify and courier systems
- Comfortable accurately recording weights, measurements and shipping information
- Conscious of Health & Safety and good working practices
- Someone who naturally keeps their working environment organised
- A clear communicator and good team player
- Comfortable flagging problems or discrepancies rather than making assumptions
Previous experience in warehousing, stores, fulfilment, goods-in, dispatch or a similar practical role would be highly desirable.
Previous forklift-driving experience is required, although refresher training can be provided for the right candidate.
Previous experience with Shopify is not required, as training will be provided.
Working With the Team
You will work under our Business Manager and closely alongside our Stock & Logistics Coordinator.
The Stock & Logistics Coordinator will oversee areas such as stock planning, purchasing and logistics, while you'll take responsibility for the physical picking, packing and dispatch of customer orders.
Good communication between these roles is important.
You'll be expected to proactively flag low packaging levels, returned or damaged products, stock discrepancies, ad-hoc stock movements, problems with packaging or dispatch and any Health & Safety concerns.
As a small business, we value people who communicate well, take responsibility for their work and are happy to work collaboratively when needed.
Hours
This is a permanent, part-time position working:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
9:00am–2:00pm
15 hours per week
The role is based entirely at our Cirencester premises.
Some flexibility may occasionally be required when larger incoming stock deliveries are scheduled outside the usual working days. These occur approximately every three months, and as much advance notice as possible will be provided.
Opportunity for Additional Hours
LLCompany is entering a period of potential growth and our fulfilment requirements may increase as the business develops.
There is therefore potential for this position to expand in hours in the future.
We would particularly welcome applicants who are happy with the current three-day working pattern but may be open to taking on additional hours as order volumes grow.
Any future increase in hours would be discussed and mutually agreed.
Why Join LLCompany?
You'll be joining a friendly, established small business rather than a large, high-volume warehouse environment.
You'll have a regular part-time working pattern, responsibility for your own working area and the opportunity to become an important part of a small team.
For someone who enjoys practical work, likes things to be organised and takes satisfaction from completing a job properly, this is an opportunity to take ownership of a varied fulfilment role within a growing business.
