Administration Coordinator : Blackpool Zoo, Part-Time | 24 Hours per Week | Salary: £26,539 Pro Rata Permanent Position

Are you a highly organised administrator with excellent customer service skills and a passion for creating outstanding experiences?

Blackpool Zoo is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Administration Coordinator to support our Education Department. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's leading zoos, helping to coordinate educational visits, courses, events and visitor experiences.

With over 1,500 rare and exotic animals and welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, Blackpool Zoo is a vibrant and rewarding place to work. About the Role

As Administration Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day administration of the Education Department. You will act as a key point of contact for schools, groups and visitors, managing bookings, maintaining records and supporting a range of educational programmes and events.

This is a varied role that requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities

Booking & Administration
Coordinate bookings for schools, groups, courses and Keeper School programmes.
Manage enquiries from customers, schools and members of the public.
Maintain accurate booking systems, records and databases.
Coordinate departmental diaries, schedules and activity planning.
Ensure educational sessions and animal experiences are accurately organised and resourced.
Maintain confidential records in line with company procedures.

Customer Service

Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
Build positive relationships with schools, colleges and community groups.
Support communications, promotional activities and customer mailings.
Act as a professional and friendly first point of contact for education enquiries.

Financial & Reporting Support

Assist with invoices, purchase orders and budget administration.
Monitor bookings, attendance records and voucher sales.
Produce reports, statistics and administrative data.
Support the collection and analysis of customer feedback.

Department Support

Assist with educational events and programmes when required.
Support the development of learning resources and visitor engagement materials.
Help maintain departmental procedures, documentation and risk assessments.
Support the safe and effective operation of academy facilities.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

Previous administration experience in a customer-facing environment.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Professional, reliable and trustworthy approach.
Experience maintaining records and databases.

Desirable

Experience using booking, CRM or database systems.
Experience within education, tourism, leisure, attractions or visitor-facing organisations.
Financial administration experience.
Experience producing reports and analysing data.
Interest in wildlife, conservation, education or environmental engagement.

Working Hours

24 hours per week.
Typically worked across 4 days.
Flexibility is required to meet business needs.
Availability to work 5 days out of 7 when required, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
