Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment. The Commis Chef will work closely with senior chefs to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and standards.
Support the team in food production, ensuring consistency and quality across all menu items.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations.
Ensure all ingredients are stored correctly and stock levels are maintained efficiently.
Participate in kitchen cleaning schedules and health & safety checks regularly.
Serve food to guests when required, ensuring excellent customer service standards are met.

Requirements

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and hygiene practices.
Passion for culinary arts with a desire to learn and develop professionally.
Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or hospitality is advantageous.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends. This position provides an excellent platform for aspiring chefs eager to expand their skills within a supportive environment dedicated to culinary excellence.

Pay: Up to £13.71 per hour
