Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Hand Ironer and laundry assistant to join our small friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently and professionally pressing garments to ensure they meet our high standards of quality. The job role also requires working in the laundry one day a week and covering holidays, this will be helping within the laundry with folding and helping serve customers. full training is provided.

Duties

Operate hand irons and pressing equipment to achieve optimal garment finish
Ensure all items are pressed according to specified standards and customer requirements
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the ironing area and equipment
Conduct routine maintenance checks on pressing machines to ensure proper functioning
Manage workflow efficiently to meet daily production targets
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and any issues encountered
Assist in managing stock levels of pressing supplies and report shortages promptly
Support management in implementing process improvements for efficiency and quality control

Requirements

Basic knowledge of garment care, maintenance, and handling techniques
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Attention to detail to ensure garments are pressed to high standards
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn new skills related to garment care, maintenance, and operational procedures
