Job Summary

We seeking an experienced, organised and proactive Office & HR Manager to lead our people management and office functions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Wales-wide mental health charity providing a diverse range of services including independent advocacy, counselling, dementia support, wellbeing services and community mental health projects.

Working closely with the Chief Executive and senior managers, you will play a key role in ensuring the organisation continues to deliver high-quality services through effective people management, strong governance and efficient office systems.

This is a varied role combining HR, office management and organisational compliance. You will be responsible for leading recruitment and safer recruitment processes, providing advice and guidance to managers on employment matters, supporting employee relations, maintaining HR records, coordinating training, overseeing office administration and helping to ensure compliance with employment legislation, safeguarding and organisational policies.

As the organisation's lead for HR, you will support managers with a wide range of workforce matters including recruitment, induction, attendance management, performance management, disciplinary and grievance procedures, wellbeing initiatives and policy development.

You will also oversee day-to-day office operations, maintain organisational systems and liaise with external suppliers and contractors.

We are looking for someone with previous management, office management, operations or HR experience who has practical experience of managing staff and supporting HR functions.

You will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to build positive working relationships, and confidence providing advice and support to managers on employment matters.

Applicants should have experience in areas such as recruitment, staff management, employee relations, HR administration, office management and maintaining confidential records. Experience within the charity, public or voluntary sector would be advantageous but is not essential.

A good understanding of UK employment legislation, DPA & GDPR, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion and best practice in people management is essential. You should also be confident using Microsoft Office 365 and be able to produce accurate reports, maintain HR information and support organisational governance.

We are looking for someone who is able to work independently, manage competing priorities and contribute positively to the continued development of Mental Health Matters Wales.

Mental Health Matters Wales offers a comprehensive induction programme, regular supervision, ongoing professional development, annual appraisal and support to achieve CIPD Level 3(where required).
