3.5t Flatbed Driver
£12.71 - £13.00 per hour
Salary negotiable depending on Skills, Certificates and Experience
42.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday

The Role:
Driving our Flatbed 3.5t vehicle and delivering our Heavy Goods Products

An exciting opportunity to join a progressive and market leading company within the construction safety sector. The role is to deliver and collect essential equipment to a variety of clients across the country at a FORS gold standard, whilst maintaining the company’s reputation for customer excellence.

This role includes the responsibility of safely delivering and collecting SafeSite products, with our 3.5t vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:
The specific accountabilities of this flexible role may alter from time to time to meet the needs of the company, but accountabilities will include (or be equivalent in nature to) those listed below:

Driving and Fleet Activities

To safely drive the company vehicle and deliver company products.
To adhere to the laws and rules of driving
To liaise frequently with Head Office regarding the logistical planning the route of delivery, allowing for any timed drops or other irregularities
Adhere, to the best of your ability, to transport planning and scheduling.
To check that load items, security, all necessary equipment, paperwork, and fuel cards are on board prior to leaving the depot for the day’s journey.
To perform and record daily vehicle safety checks before departure..
To be aware of the legal load capacity of the vehicle to be driven
To be aware of and follow company procedure for vehicle breakdowns.
To complete all company required documentation.
Report to management all vehicle defects and maintenance requirements as soon as possible and drivers daily check sheet
To Keep your allocated vehicle clean and in good working order
To follow driving rules and regulations within the Working Time Directive (WTD)
To assist with warehouse duties as required
Attend team meetings as required

Customer Service and Road Presence

To unload goods at the customer’s premises safely, efficiently, in first class condition, in a safe and professional manner
Assist with erecting and dismantling Safe Site products, if and when needed.
Complete delivery confirmations.
To carry out driving tasks with courtesy and safety toward the general public.

FORS, Compliance and Health and Safety

Adherence to Health and Safety processes and adherence to Risk Assessments and RAMS.
Report hazards, near misses, accidents and incidents timeously.
Wear all PPE as required.
Carry out all duties with care and safety.
Completion of FORS certification and training as required.
Completion of internal training processes
Support to the Fleet Manager as needed.

The role may require occasional overnight stays. The role may require working antisocial hours on occasions. Overtime may be required for business needs

Person Specification
Level of Knowledge & Experience:

Sound commercial vehicle driving experience
Must have no more than 6 points on your licence
Excellent knowledge of the highway code
Good knowledge of Health and Safety regulations

Advantageous

CSCS Card
Telehandler or Forklift certification

Skills:

Ability to analyse situations and make decisions accordingly
Excellent organisational and planning skills
Literacy and numeracy skills
Excellent communication skills in order to influence the actions of others
Ability to gain trust and respect of team members and customers in order to develop relationships
