About LLCompany
LLCompany is a specialist interiors company supplying high-quality architectural and interior products to homeowners, interior designers, architects and trade customers throughout the UK and internationally.
Our product range includes library ladder systems, architectural mouldings, wall panelling, pocket door systems and specialist interior hardware.
We are looking for a highly organised and reliable Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator to help keep our stock, purchasing and day-to-day logistics running smoothly.
This is a varied role within a small business and would suit someone who enjoys being organised, keeping track of multiple things and making sure everything happens when it should.
You don't need to come from a traditional purchasing or supply-chain background. Experience in areas such as stock control, logistics, project coordination, operations, retail administration, order processing, purchasing or a similar environment could all be relevant.
What matters most is that you're organised, accurate, confident using computer systems and naturally inclined to spot and resolve problems before they become urgent.
The Role
Working under our Business Manager and alongside our Warehouse & Fulfilment Operative, you'll coordinate three main areas of our day-to-day operation:
- purchasing and stock
- couriers and logistics
- keeping operational processes organised and running smoothly
Our products can be high-value, oversized and technically detailed and are sourced from manufacturers and suppliers in the UK and overseas.
You'll therefore need to be comfortable working with product information, stock figures, supplier orders and shipping details — but full training will be provided on our products and systems.
This is not a high-volume corporate purchasing role. We're a small team, so the work is varied and you'll have the opportunity to take genuine ownership of your area.
Purchasing & Stock
You'll help ensure we have the right stock available when we need it.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring stock levels and identifying upcoming purchasing requirements
- Planning replenishment around supplier lead times and expected demand
- Raising and managing purchase orders
- Ordering stock and supplies through supplier portals, email and our purchasing systems
- Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers regarding orders, availability and delivery dates
- Keeping accurate records of outstanding orders and expected deliveries
- Coordinating regular stock counts with our Warehouse & Fulfilment Operative
- Investigating and correcting stock discrepancies
- Monitoring packaging materials and arranging replenishment
- Recording and processing returned, damaged and seconds stock
Over time, we'd like you to become someone who knows what's coming up and can flag potential stock or supply issues before they become urgent.
Couriers & Logistics
You'll also coordinate customer shipments and incoming deliveries.
This will include:
- Arranging courier collections and processing shipments
- Managing UK and occasional international shipments
- Obtaining shipping quotations where required
- Preparing information and documentation for international shipments
- Monitoring deliveries and investigating delays or problems
- Liaising with couriers regarding missing or damaged shipments
- Managing courier claims where appropriate
- Coordinating customer returns
- Communicating directly with customers when a delivery problem needs resolving
- Maintaining good working relationships with our suppliers, couriers and logistics partners
You don't need previous international shipping experience — training can be provided.
Keeping Things Running Smoothly
Because we're a small business, we're looking for someone who enjoys keeping things organised rather than simply completing a fixed list of tasks.
You'll work closely with our Warehouse & Fulfilment Operative to coordinate stock deliveries, stock counts and order priorities.
You'll also help maintain clear stock and warehouse procedures, flag operational or Health & Safety issues where appropriate and identify simple ways we could make our processes more reliable or efficient.
From time to time, you may also help with small research or improvement projects — for example comparing courier services, investigating packaging options or finding a better way of managing a particular process.
There may occasionally be times when you'll help the wider team, such as answering an incoming customer call while colleagues are temporarily away from the phone.
About You
We're less concerned about having followed a particular career path and more interested in finding someone with the right approach.
You may previously have worked in stock control, purchasing, logistics, project coordination, retail operations, administration, order processing, supply chain or another organised operational environment.
You will ideally be:
- Highly organised and dependable
- Accurate and detail-focused
- Comfortable managing several ongoing tasks
- Confident using computers, spreadsheets and online systems
- Quick to learn new software and processes
- Comfortable working with numbers and product information
- A clear and professional communicator
- Confident speaking with customers, suppliers and couriers
- Calm and methodical when something goes wrong
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
- Someone who naturally thinks ahead
- Happy working within a small team where people sometimes help one another
Experience with Shopify, purchasing systems, inventory management software, courier platforms or international shipping would be useful, but isn't essential and training will be provided.
