About the role

Reporting to the Branch Manager you will be working as a Grill Chef responsible for producing the majority of cooked foods during a fast paced service, fulfilling orders as they come in and ensuring the servers have all of the items they require, ready to be put together and plated. You will occasionally work as part of a small team of grill chefs, or as the sole grill chef on shift whereby you will have full control of the entire section. Your key duties will include the following:

Cooking and preparing food to order from fresh in a fast paced kitchen environment
Manning a flat grill, chargrill, deep fat fryer and oven
Completing the necessary food preparation required for a busy service
Following basic recipes
Liaising with other Grill Chefs to ensure a smooth handover
Maintaining an extremely clean and organised work area, both mid shift and the end of day clean down
Maintaining an impeccable standard of food hygiene and safety - ensuring all due diligence and food hygiene standards are adhered to
Partaking in regular area audits
Occasionally assisting the servers in the plating of the food
Performing daily stock takes and prep lists

What we’re looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with lots of energy, who is able to handle a high pressure, fast paced kitchen environment. You must have a passion for good food and tidy presentation, as well as the ability to produce mouth-wateringly, perfectly grilled meats. You will need great attention to detail when it comes to keeping a tidy and organised work area and you must have a love for cleaning because that’s half the battle. You should have the ability to work as part of a team whilst also using your own initiative. You MUST have experience working in a similar environment with a general knowledge of food safety and hygiene, holding the necessary food hygiene certificates, as well as experience working with a chargrill and fryers.
