Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time - 48 hours - Variable Shift Pattern

Purpose of Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a professional and proactive Security Officer to join our established security team based in Cardiff.

Job Description

We are seeking Security Officers to provide general manned guarding services at one of our prestigious sites. This is a key role within our professional Security team, delivering a high level of customer-focused security service to our client.

You will be expected to take responsibility for providing proactive and effective security services, including detection and prevention activities, as well as emergency response, to help maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, visitors, and contractors.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the site’s security integrity is maintained at all times. This is a full-time position working a fixed shift pattern of Thursday to Sunday.

Responsibilities

Maintain the highest level of security by delivering proactive and effective detection, prevention, and emergency response activities.
Carry out internal and external patrols to monitor site security and identify any risks or vulnerabilities.
Undertake gatehouse duties, including access control and monitoring site entry and exit.
Provide reception cover and x-ray scanning duties where required.
Monitor CCTV systems and respond appropriately to any incidents or concerns.
Carry out control room duties and key control tasks in line with site procedures.
Support the Security Supervisory and Management team by identifying and reporting security vulnerabilities and ensuring concerns are addressed or suitably mitigated.
Use all security systems, including patrol devices and CCTV, to a high standard to maximise operational effectiveness.

Essential Qualifications/Skills

Must hold a valid Frontline Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence (SG/DS/CP).
SIA CCTV Licence is desirable.
Previous security experience in a manned guarding or similar role.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
