Full job description

Job Summary

Join our friendly team as a Temporary Cattery Assistant and play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support for our feline residents. This position offers the opportunity to work in fantastic animal care environment, providing very high standards of care/cleanliness thus ensuring the well-being and comfort of cats boarding with us. As a team member, you will assist with daily cattery operations, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and contributing to the happiness of our furry guests. This paid temporary role is perfect for passionate animal lovers. However, it is a very physical role with a large part of the day spent on your feet, bending and some lifting. The hours will mostly be over the weekends with the chance of additional hours during the week as and when needed.

Duties

Assist with feeding and watering the cats in accordance with owners instructions
Clean and sanitize cattery spaces, including bedding, litter boxes, and common areas
Monitor cats’ health and behavior, reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly
Provide friendly assistance to visitors
Handle lifting tasks such as moving carriers, cleaning supplies and equipment safely and efficientl
Maintain accurate and thorough records of daily activities, health observations, and cleaning schedules

Skills

Prior veterinary experience or strong animal care background preferred
Passionate about animal welfare with a genuine love for cats
Excellent team working manner
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina throughout shifts
Strong attention to detail for record keeping and cleanliness standards
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report concerns clearly
Adaptable and energetic attitude to thrive in a fast-paced animal care environment
Own transport is essential due to location

Pay: Up to £12.75 per hour
