Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, supporting culinary staff, and ensuring a smooth operational flow. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a professional kitchen setting, whether in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills in food preparation, cooking, and hospitality.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support chefs and kitchen staff
Ensure all kitchen utensils, cookware, and equipment are cleaned and properly stored after use
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen area in accordance with health and safety regulations
Support with organising stock supplies and monitoring inventory levels
Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures efficiently
Assist in setting up workstations for service periods and cleaning down after service concludes
Follow all safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or hazards within the kitchen environment

Skills

Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and culinary practices is desirable
Experience working in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is beneficial
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
