About Us

We are a well-established, family-run business based in Stratford, East London, with a proud history spanning over 100 years. We specialise in the supply of flame retardant textiles to the theatre, film and events industry, and also manufacture a wide range of curtains and drapery into some of the most prestigious organisations across the UK and worldwide.

As a small, close-knit team, we take pride in the personal service and expertise we bring the industry and we're looking for a Sales Administrator to join us and help keep our sales operation running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be a team player, enjoy working in a busy office environment and most importantly be enthusiastic and willing to learn about this specialised industry.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on, fully office-based permanent role at the heart of our sales operation. You will be the first point of contact for many of our customers, so a friendly, helpful and professional manner is essential. You must have transferable sales, customer service or sales administration experience.

Hours of Work - Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week

Your key responsibilities will include:

Process customer orders using our bespoke IT system and respond to enquiries by phone and email in a timely manner
Maintain professional and positive relationships with clients
Develop a detailed knowledge of Company products and services to support and advise customers with their orders
Manage the entire sales cycle and provide a high level of customer service by providing product knowledge, offering samples, submitting quotations and presenting competitive delivery options (including overseas exports)
Support with marketing and sales advertising activity, such as developing mailshots and social media content
Assisting with other miscellaneous general office administration as required

As a small business, no two days are quite the same. You will need to be adaptable and happy to turn your hand to different tasks as they come up.

What We are Looking For

We don't expect candidates to have direct experience in our industry - it is a specialist field, and we're happy to teach you the product knowledge you'll need. What matters most to us is your attitude and approach. You should be:

Hard-working, reliable and organised
Willing to learn and keen to develop new skills
Confident on the phone and comfortable dealing with customers
Able to prioritise and manage a varied workload
A good communicator, both written and verbal
Comfortable using standard office software (email, Word, Excel)

Essential: Transferable sales, customer service or sales administration experience.

Desirable: Knowledge of textiles or experience within the theatre, film or events industry — though this is not required.
