IT Hardware Technician (Consumer)

Preston, PR3 3XL | Full-Time | £26,436.80 (£12.71/hr) + Uncapped Bonus | Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00

About Us

As champions of the circular economy, we pride ourselves on delivering quality IT hardware with excellent customer service. As an IT Hardware Technician, you’ll work in the consumer department where you will have a flexible role which will involve cleaning, testing, auditing and packing used PCs, laptops and monitors to company standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

Sorting and grading PCs, laptops, and monitors
Cleaning both the inside and outside of equipment using compressed air and cleaning products
Checking cables and internal parts for damage
Testing, troubleshooting, and auditing used PCs, laptops and monitors
Adding stock to the inventory system
Packaging equipment ready for dispatch
Using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and basic hand tools correctly
Ensuring workspaces are tidy and tools properly maintained
Adhering to workplace safety, including safe handling of equipment and compliance with company policies
Handling IT equipment (up to 25kg) and working on your feet for extended periods

A genuine interest in IT hardware, either with experience in a similar role or through personal hobbies (being the go-to tech person counts!)
Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
Reliable, with good organisational skills
A quick learner who can hit the ground running
Able to work at pace in a target-driven environment as part of a motivated team
