Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the food service industry, particularly in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.

Duties

Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods by ensuring supplies are stocked and ready for use
Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to ensure a safe and organised environment
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
Supporting the overall organisation of the kitchen to facilitate efficient workflow during service hours

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is advantageous
Familiarity with kitchen safety and hygiene standards is beneficial
Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills
Previous serving or hospitality experience is a plus but not mandatory
