Full job description

Part-Time Administrator/Receptionist – NHS GP Surgery

We are looking for a skilled, organised, and friendly Receptionist/Administrator to join our busy NHS GP Surgery team.

As the first point of contact for patients—both via triage forms and at reception—you will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a professional, welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner
Manage incoming calls, directing queries and taking accurate messages
Process triage forms and support patient flow
Book and manage appointments efficiently
Carry out general administrative duties, including data entry
Raising prescriptions (training given)
Process referral and A & G's (training given)
Handle confidential patient information with discretion

About You

Previous experience as a receptionist, ideally within a medical or healthcare setting
Strong IT skills and confidence using multiple computer systems
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
Clear and professional verbal and written communication
High attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable using office equipment (e.g. printers, scanners)
Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable (but not essential)
Scanning experience is an advantage (training can be provided)
Working Hours - 20 hours per week
Working days: Monday, Tuesday and Friday
Additional hours to be worked to cover annual leave and sickness
Start Date - As soon as possible.
