Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Counter Staff to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in delivering excellent service, preparing food items, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all customers. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service and hospitality within a dynamic setting. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing customer orders, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting overall operations to ensure a seamless experience for our patrons.

Responsibilities

Take customer orders accurately and efficiently at the counter and over the phone
Prepare food items in accordance with established standards and safety regulations
Serve food with professionalism and courtesy
Assist with food safety procedures, including hygiene and cleanliness protocols
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities
Manage cash register transactions and handle payments securely
Maintain a clean and organised work area, including counters, display cases, and seating areas
Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed
Ensure timely delivery of orders to customers and manage waiting/delivery times effectively
Provide excellent customer service by addressing queries and resolving issues promptly

Requirements

Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Experience with taking ordering over the phone/in store
Experience with food preparation, serving, or kitchen operations is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with good time management abilities
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
Friendly, approachable manner with excellent communication skills
Willingness to learn new skills and contribute positively to team dynamics
