Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Bar Assistant to join our vibrant hospitality team. This role involves supporting bar operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, good organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Previous experience in a restaurant or bar environment is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Duties

Serve drinks and organise bar supplies to ensure smooth service during busy periods
Assist in preparing and replenishing bar stock, including garnishes and glassware
Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including cleaning glasses and equipment
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and responsible alcohol service policies
Support the team with setting up and packing down the bar at opening and closing times
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
Assist with organising events or special functions as required

Skills

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is preferred but not essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service is desirable
Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Excellent time management to ensure timely service during peak hours
Friendly, approachable manner with good communication skills
Ability to work well within a team and adapt quickly to changing priorities
Due to the nature of the role a minimum age requirement of 18 years of age is essential.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
