Accounts Administrator

About the Role

Established in the mid 70’s we are a leading manufacturer of power & electrical equipment, with customers throughout the UK and worldwide. From supplying the UK’s largest property developers, F1 teams to the film industry and music festivals, you will be working with a diverse and dynamic range of customers.

We are seeking an organised and enthusiastic Accounts Administrator to join our finance team.

The role will provide exposure to a variety of accounting and administrative duties, with support and training available for the right candidate.

The position is 8.30am-5pm, Monday to Friday with no evening, weekend, or bank holiday working.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the day-to-day operation of the accounts and administration function
Assisting with credit control activities, including contacting customers by telephone and email regarding outstanding invoices
Maintaining the sales ledger and ensuring customer account information is accurate and up to date
Processing customer payments and allocating receipts to customer accounts
Setting up new customer accounts and maintaining customer records
Assisting with bank reconciliations and other routine finance tasks
Responding to customer account queries in a professional and timely manner
Liaising with customers and colleagues across the business to resolve account-related issues
Carrying out general office administration duties including filing, scanning, data entry and document management
Assisting with month-end activities as required
Ensuring records are maintained accurately and confidentially
Other ad-hoc admin duties as required by the business

About You

The successful candidate will be:

Organised, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
Comfortable communicating with customers by phone and email
Accurate, with excellent attention to detail
Positive, proactive and willing to learn
Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

Essential Requirements

Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
