Front of House Manager

Quirky Quarter

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per year

Overall Goal

You will lead day-to-day front-of-house operations, oversee the Front of House team, and ensure an exceptional customer experience across one of Liverpool’s most unique visitor attractions, including the attraction, shop and café.

We’re looking for a genuine people person with a naturally bubbly, energetic and outgoing personality. As one of the key faces of Quirky Quarter, you’ll have the ability to make visitors feel welcomed, valued and excited from the moment they arrive.

This role is about far more than supervising operations; it’s about helping us elevate the visitor experience to the next level. Through your enthusiasm, leadership and passion for customer service, you’ll play a key role in creating the fun, engaging and unforgettable atmosphere that makes Quirky Quarter such a unique attraction.

This role requires an energetic and approachable “face of the attraction” who enjoys interacting with guests, supporting colleagues and creating memorable experiences.

Job Description

Set in the heart of Liverpool city centre, Quirky Quarter is an imaginative and much-loved visitor attraction known for its playful spaces and memorable guest experiences. Visitors consistently compliment the venue’s unique atmosphere — and you’ll be right at the centre of it.

We’re looking for a creative, people-focused Front of House manager to support the day-to-day operation of our attraction, retail and café areas. You’ll lead by example, motivate the team, deliver outstanding customer service and contribute ideas that enhance the overall visitor experience.

The Role

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work alongside the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the attraction. You’ll support the General Manager in maintaining high standards of customer service, retail presentation and café operations while helping to drive merchandise sales and guest engagement.

You’ll be confident, organised and personable, with a natural ability to build rapport with visitors and colleagues. Your enthusiasm and positive attitude will help create the welcoming and quirky atmosphere that makes Quirky Quarter unique.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Front of House team during shifts, ensuring exceptional customer service and smooth daily operations.
Support the General Manager and wider team in delivering operational excellence across the attraction.
Supervise front-of-house staff during shifts, ensuring high standards are maintained.
Assist with booking systems, customer enquiries and visitor management.
Support retail sales through effective merchandising and product presentation.
Help maintain a fun, engaging and on-brand shop environment.
Assist in promoting merchandise, café offerings and visitor experiences through social media and marketing activities where required.
Ensure the café operates efficiently, maintaining cleanliness, presentation and service standards.
Encourage upselling opportunities across retail, café and visitor experiences.
Help train, coach and support new team members.
Lead by example in creating engaging, playful and memorable interactions with guests.
Resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently.
Carry out opening and closing procedures as required.
Monitor stock levels and report ordering requirements to management.
Ensure health, safety and cleanliness standards are maintained throughout the attraction, café and retail areas.

What We’re Looking For

Previous supervisory or senior front-of-house experience within hospitality, retail, visitor attractions or similar customer-facing environments.
An enthusiastic, outgoing and confident personality with a genuine passion for customer service.
Excellent people skills with the ability to engage visitors from all backgrounds and create a welcoming, memorable experience.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
Experience working with booking systems, EPOS systems and Microsoft Office.
Confidence handling customer enquiries and resolving issues.
An interest in retail sales, merchandising and guest experience.
Flexible to work weekends, holidays and occasional evenings as required.
