Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of a care home specialising in senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer's care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of residential care home environments, and a compassionate approach to resident wellbeing. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a committed team in providing high-quality care within a supportive and professional setting. The Deputy Home Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with care standards, managing staff, and maintaining excellent relationships with residents and their families.

Duties

Oversee the day-to-day running of the care home, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained at all times
Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to individual resident needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care
Supervise and lead a team of care staff, providing guidance, training, and support to promote professional development and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Manage medication administration processes in accordance with legal and organisational policies
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and quality standards within the home
Foster a warm, welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff
Coordinate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive nursing and medical support as required
Monitor operational budgets, manage staffing rotas, and optimise resource utilisation
Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in service delivery and resident satisfaction

Qualifications

Proven experience in residential care home environments, with specific expertise in senior care and dementia management
Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or management experience within a care home or similar setting
Knowledge of care plans development and implementation tailored to residents with complex needs such as Alzheimer’s disease
Competence in medication administration and understanding of relevant healthcare regulations
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining attention to detail
Compassionate approach coupled with strong communication skills to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
Relevant qualifications in residential care are highly desirable; prior experience in dementia or Alzheimer’s care is advantageous
