The House Porter supports the Residential Services team by ensuring all day-to-day requests for guest homes and suites are completed efficiently and to the high standard associated with the club. This includes ensuring all equipment is in good working order, maintaining well-stocked stores, and responding to requests promptly and effectively.

Supporting the preparation of the department’s equipment, cleaning products, supplies and linen. Ensuring everything is kept organised in readiness for refreshing rooms, members and their guests’ departure days, and servicing days in between. Maintaining our team member areas of the castle with the same high standard of care and attention to detail as our guest spaces, all with warmth and care.

The Residential Services Department work across the whole estate collaborating with team members throughout the various areas of the club. We believe in having fun while creating memorable moments for our members and visiting guests at their ‘home from home’. We make sure each visit is special and unique.

Discover the role

Proactively support the department in delivering a consistent, efficient and intuitive service across the estate. Respond to members’ and guests’ requests in a warm, professional and helpful manner, always going above and beyond to make their stay truly memorable.

Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring all areas are kept clean, tidy and presented to the required standard. Report any maintenance defects identified within guest accommodation, front of house and heart of house areas promptly.

Assist with servicing suites and undertake high-level cleaning on a routine basis, including carpet and upholstery cleaning when required. Ensure all cots are neatly stored, well maintained and in safe working order, ready for use always.

Ensure all cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, steam machines and mops are clean, well maintained and in good working order daily, with vacuum bags changed as required. Monitor stock levels and assist with the inventory, restocking and receiving of items to ensure the smooth running of the residential services department.

People are our priority, support with deep cleaning across other areas of the operation whenever required and as directed by management, working collaboratively to ensure the highest standards are consistently maintained.

Attend and contribute to departmental meetings and wider business meetings, where necessary. We do the right thing. Continual product quality standards: procedures are observed daily. Follow and accurately complete cleaning schedules and checklists for each area of the business you are involved with. Uphold our exceptional standards while demonstrating passion and flare in the pursuit of service excellence. We respect people, places, and culture and as an Ambassador of Taymouth Castle – spokesperson, advocate, and supporter.

Based within the castle or at various locations throughout the estate. Although much of your time will be spent indoors, some time may be spent outdoors. This role can involve long periods of standing, walking and bending.
