Chef – The Goose & Cuckoo

The Goose & Cuckoo isn’t just a kitchen — it’s a playground for creativity, seasonality, and seriously good food. We’re building a venue where everything has a story, from our home-brewed beers and in-house spirits to a menu that celebrates field-to-fork cooking at its best.

We’re now looking for a talented Chef to join us on this journey — someone who wants more than just a service. Someone who wants to help shape what goes on the plate.

What makes this kitchen different?
This is food with purpose. Our menu is rooted in field-to-fork sourcing, working closely with local farmers, growers, and producers to bring in the best seasonal ingredients. It’s about freshness, sustainability, and letting the ingredients speak.

You’ll be part of a team that isn’t afraid to experiment, evolve, and push boundaries — all while keeping things approachable and full of flavour.

The Role
This isn’t a “just follow the spec” kind of job. You’ll play an active role in shaping and developing our food offering.

Menu Development: Collaborate on creating a dynamic, seasonal menu that evolves with the land and the ideas of the team
Sourcing & Relationships: Work closely with local suppliers to bring the field-to-fork vision to life
Creative Input: Bring your own ideas to the table — new dishes, techniques, and concepts are always welcome
Team Building: Help grow and mentor a strong, motivated kitchen team alongside our Head Chef
Event Catering: Be part of delivering food for large-scale events, weddings, and festivals of 500+ guests
Quality & Consistency: Ensure every dish that leaves the kitchen reflects the standards and personality of The Goose & Cuckoo

Who you’ll be working with
You’ll be side-by-side with a dynamic, hands-on Head Chef who values creativity, collaboration, and a positive kitchen culture. This is a place where ideas are shared, skills are developed, and the team genuinely enjoys what they do.

Who we’re looking for

A passionate chef with a love for fresh, seasonal ingredients
Experience in a quality-driven kitchen (from gastropub to restaurant level)
Someone who enjoys creativity and contributing to menu ideas
A team player who brings energy and positivity to the kitchen
Interest in sustainable sourcing and building supplier relationships
Able to thrive in both busy service and large-scale event environments
