Overview

We are seeking a skilled Joiner/Carpenter to join our construction team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and other material structures on-site and in workshops. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those with a passion for craftsmanship and construction, providing a chance to work on diverse projects including roofing, masonry, plumbing, and electrical installations. Applicants should have a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience using hand tools and power tools. The position is paid and suitable for individuals looking to develop their skills within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble bespoke timber structures and components according to technical drawings and specifications
Install joinery elements such as doors, windows, cabinets, and other fixtures on-site or in workshops
Use hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, saws, sanders) safely and efficiently
Perform roofing tasks including truss installation and weatherproofing measures
Conduct heavy lifting of materials such as timber, bricks, or masonry components to facilitate construction activities
Assist with construction painting, masonry work, plumbing tasks, electrical installations, or other trades as required
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and maintains high standards of quality
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining safety standards

Experience

Proven experience in carpentry or joinery within the construction industry
Skilled in fabrication, assembly, and installation of wooden structures using both hand tools and power tools
Knowledge of roofing techniques, masonry work, plumbing systems, electrical experience is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during demanding physical tasks
Experience working on diverse projects such as residential or commercial buildings is preferred
Familiarity with construction painting or finishing techniques is a plus
Strong organisational skills with the ability to read technical drawings and plans accurately

Pay: £25.00-£28.00 per hour
