Early Years Practitioner

We are a family run Early Learning and Childcare Centre situated in the centre of Kilwinning. We provide a nurturing, inspiring and creative environment where everyone is valued. We have over 30 years’ experience delivering high quality early learning and childcare for children aged 0-5 years. We provide exciting, fun, and meaningful learning experiences for all children in our care, giving every child the best possible start in life.

Candidates must be a member of Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and be registered with SSSC or be willing to do so on request.

Applicants must hold the relevant qualifications in Childcare & Education

Early Years Practitioner - We are looking for a Qualified, motivated, caring and nurturing Early Years Practitioner to join our busy team. Applicants should be fully qualified with a minimum SCVQ level 7 or HNC in Early Education & Childcare and will be able to contribute to the planning, plan meaningful experiences, record observations and document children’s learning journey throughout the centre, and will also have a good knowledge of – Health & Social Care Standards/ Realising the Ambition/ Quality Improvement Framework for Early Learning and Childcare. You will be able to maintain a safe, clean, stimulating environment and build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues as well as working collaboratively as part of a team to uphold high standards of care.

30 Hour Minimum Contract

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development
Supervise and monitor children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times
Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children’s curiosity and independence
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
Collaborate with colleagues to organise daily schedules and activities
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns
Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards
Assist in the organisation of nursery events and outings, including driving when necessary

Requirements

Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative
Childcare qualifications such as SCVQ Level 7 or HNC in Early learning & Childcare or equivalent are required
Must be registered with SSSC and be a member of protection of vulnerable Groups (PVG) or be willing to do so on request.
A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children
Commitment to safeguarding standards and promoting inclusive practice
