Overview

Join our dedicated team as an Occasional Hours Care Home Cook, where your culinary skills will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. In this vital role, you will prepare nutritious, delicious meals tailored to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents, ensuring a warm and welcoming dining experience. Your passion for food and commitment to food safety will help foster a caring environment that promotes well-being and comfort for all.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents’ specific needs
Plan menus that balance taste, nutrition, and variety to enhance residents’ dining experience
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times
Serve meals with professionalism and friendliness, ensuring timely delivery to residents
Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages
Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures
Collaborate with care staff to accommodate special dietary requirements or restrictions

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a care home or healthcare setting
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Previous kitchen or culinary experience in a restaurant or similar environment is highly desirable
Ability to plan, prepare, and serve meals efficiently while maintaining quality standards
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing kitchen operations
Good communication skills to work effectively with staff and residents
Flexibility to adapt menus based on residents’ evolving dietary needs or preferences

Pay: £14.00 per hour
