About Us

CHIC is a successful family-run independent retailer with stores in the beautiful Derbyshire towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell and Buxton. For over 15 years, we have built a loyal customer base by offering a carefully curated range of ladies' clothing, accessories and gifts, alongside exceptional customer service.

We are passionate about what we do and are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join our team in Bakewell.

The Role

You will play a key role in creating an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers. Working within a small and supportive team, you will help maintain our high standards of customer service, visual merchandising and store presentation.

This is a part-time position advertised at 2 days per week; however, we are happy to discuss alternatives for the right candidate.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 9:15am – 5:15pm
Saturday: 9:15am – 5:45pm
Sunday: 10:15am – 4:45pm

The role will include weekend working on a rota basis. Rotas are prepared monthly. While flexibility is preferred, specific working days can be discussed during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver outstanding customer service and assist customers with purchases and enquiries
Process transactions accurately and securely using the till system
Maintain attractive product displays and merchandising standards
Promote products, special offers and seasonal collections
Support the team in achieving sales targets and store objectives
Resolve customer queries and concerns professionally and efficiently
Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming retail environment

About You

The ideal candidate will be:

Friendly, approachable and customer-focused
A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
Enthusiastic, reliable and willing to learn
Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Flexible and adaptable in a busy retail environment

Experience

Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable but not essential
Experience in sales and achieving targets would be advantageous
Full training will be provided for the right candidate
