Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and welcoming Hotel Receptionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for delivering exceptional guest services and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous hotel experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in and check-out procedures
Manage guest reservations and room allocations accurately using the hotel management system
Provide information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and services to guests
Handle guest enquiries via phone, email, or in person with professionalism and courtesy
Process payments securely and issue receipts or invoices as required
Address guest concerns promptly and escalate issues to management when necessary
Maintain a tidy and organised reception area at all times
Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest satisfaction
Uphold high standards of phone etiquette and guest interaction at all times

Requirements

Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not mandatory
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable
Strong phone etiquette with the ability to handle enquiries politely and efficiently
Friendly, approachable demeanour with a professional appearance
Organised with good time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays if required
Knowledge of hotel management software is an advantage but training will be provided
